Start with low-risk clutter

Screenshots, accidental photos, repeated downloads, and obvious duplicates are usually easier to review than personal memories. Clearing these groups first creates momentum and reduces risky decisions.

Work in short sessions

A large camera roll is tiring to review. Ten focused minutes is often safer than trying to finish everything at once. A swipe-based photo cleaner can make those short sessions feel more manageable.

Use undo and Recently Deleted

Choose a workflow that lets you reverse decisions. iOS also keeps deleted photos in Recently Deleted for a limited period, but you should still review selections carefully before confirming removal.

Keep cleanup private

Photo libraries contain personal information. Prefer tools that process photo analysis locally on the device, and review their privacy policy before granting access.
